PT Grha Bintang Utama successfully participated in the Construction and Implementation of a Weigh In Motion (WIM) System at the Callendar Hamilton Bridge under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP/KPBU) Project of the Indonesian Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR) in collaboration with PT Bukaka Teknik Utama during the period of 2022–2023.
This project was designed to enhance the monitoring and enforcement of freight transportation by utilizing advanced Weigh In Motion (WIM) technology, enabling vehicle weight measurements to be conducted automatically while vehicles are in motion. The system plays a crucial role in identifying overloaded and over-dimension vehicles, helping to reduce the impact of excessive loads on critical road and bridge infrastructure.
The implementation of the WIM system at the Callendar Hamilton Bridge supports the Indonesian government's efforts to address Over Dimension Over Loading (ODOL) violations, improve road safety, and extend the operational lifespan of transportation infrastructure. By providing accurate, real-time vehicle weight data, the system enables more effective traffic management and infrastructure protection without disrupting traffic flow.
The project scope included the installation and integration of WIM sensors, supporting hardware and software systems, data acquisition and processing modules, as well as system commissioning to ensure reliable operational performance. The completed system delivers high-accuracy vehicle weighing capabilities and supports data-driven decision-making for transportation authorities and infrastructure operators.
Through this project, PT Grha Bintang Utama further strengthened its expertise in delivering Weigh In Motion solutions, intelligent transportation systems, and infrastructure monitoring technologies across Indonesia. The successful deployment of the WIM system at the Callendar Hamilton Bridge demonstrates the company’s commitment to providing innovative, reliable, and sustainable solutions for modern transportation infrastructure.
